Full Time Marketing Director For Key Center

Position Overview – The Key Center for Learning Differences makes accessible to families, educators, and students the resources necessary to provide equitable educational opportunities for all students with Learning Differences in Tarrant County. The Key School was an early pioneer in Texas for students with learning differences and now serves kindergarten through 12th grade students. This year two additional programs will launch. The Key School Academic Language Therapy (KSALT) is a two-year, multi-sensory, masters’-level training program to prepare selected teachers to work with children and adults with dyslexia or related disorders. The Key Navigation and Training Institute will help Tarrant County families navigate through special education and give parents and teachers the tools they need to help their students reach their full potential. A capital campaign is being completed to enable a move to a 14-acre state-of-the-art Center for Learning Differences in Fort Worth.


Position – The Key Center is seeking a strategic marketing and communications professional to serve as its Marketing Director. The Marketing Director is primarily responsible to lead, manage and implement marketing activities to support all three Key Center programs, as well as annual fundraising and completion of the capital campaign. The position will report to the Executive Director of the Key Center, serve on its Senior Leadership Team, and work collaboratively with program leaders to provide marketing strategies and activities to help achieve Center program and fundraising objectives. Responsibilities – Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Director will lead and develop marketing to support the growth of Key Center programs and financial resources to fulfil its mission. The Marketing Director is responsible for:

  • A dynamic website presence, including ongoing design and content
  • Digital marketing with mass emails, eNewsletter and social media
  • Implementation of the Marketing Plan and updating it to meet program needs
  • Key School marketing to help increase student enrollment and expand to serve 3 and 4 year-olds
  • Development and publication of collateral materials
  • Media relations to reach broader communities; prepare senior leaders for media interviews
  • Brand strategies to increase awareness and position the Key Center as Tarrant County thought leaders in serving students, educators and parents on learning differences education
  • Marketing to help reach potential donors and inform them of progress
  • Event marketing to help reach fundraising objectives
  • Support of Key Center senior leaders in their presentations to professional learning differences conferences, and to Tarrant County civic and community groups
  • Overseeing the work of external website designers, graphic designers, and print vendors




  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university; preferred major in marketing, public relations or related field, accredited in public relations (APR) or certified in nonprofit marketing
  • Five years minimum experience; the ideal candidate will have nonprofit and/or education marketing experience
  • Mission-focused – strategic thinker with a grasp of digital marketing strategies and social media
  • Results-oriented – decision-making skills and sound judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Expert team player and leader
